Dhankuta, Jul 04,2018
Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has started cutting power supply to many customers of the district by blacklisting them for not paying electricity tariffs for long.
NEA is yet to collect approximately Rs 11.7 million arrears from the total 407 customers of various areas in the district, said NEA, Dhankuta section chief Pawan Kumar Shah.
Likewise, NEA has warned other 77 customers including Dhankuta Municipality of cutting off power supply if they fail to pay outstanding electricity dues until mid-July. The Municipality owes more than Rs 2.5 million unpaid electricity bills while other customers are to pay off dues worth over Rs 600,000.
The NEA has launched a drive to take action against those failing to pay electricity dues for long, said the NEA branch office.
